Katie Thomas is currently a professional dancer with Spectrum Dance Theatre and has been since 2003. Katie supplements her income from dancing as a Pilates Instructor. She first began studying the Pilates Method in 1999 while dancing with the Atlanta Ballet. Katie has danced with the Colorado Ballet (1997-98), Atlanta Ballet (1999-2000), Ballet Memphis (2000-01), and Eugene Ballet (2001-03).

Besides studying dance a zillion hours a week, Katie completed one year of higher education at the University of San Francisco. Her dance training has been extensive and includes summer intensive study for six concurrent years at the School of the American Ballet, the San Francisco Ballet School and as a scholarship student at the Bolshoi Ballet academy in Vail, Colorado for two of those years. Ms. Thomas became a certified Pilates in June of 2003 at the Instructor Training Program of Pilates Seattle International, under the supervision of Romana Kryzanowska and Sari Pace. She succinctly describes her teaching style as attentive to detail and form. Katie Thomas is originally from Denver and misses her groovy parents but thoroughly enjoys performing for the dance lovers in Seattle.
